Yes - that is right - JJ is a leap year baby. Everyone else in the litter was born on the 28th, but JJ was not ready to come out into the big wide world. He decided he liked the apartment now that the rest had moved out.
We had to take Jazz to the vet on the morning of the 29th since we were pretty sure there was one more left, and to have Jazz and the pups checked over. The vet confirmed that there was one more left, and told us that there was no way he could still be alive as he had been in there too long. She gave Jazz a shot to make her expel the dead pup.
Sharon was in the back of my van with Jazz and the babies, and I was driving her home, when Jazz started to deliver. As we drew up outside Sharon's house, she told me he was alive!
I thought that JJ should be my dog as he was born on the 29th in the back of my van. How obvious do the signs need to be! But I knew Darius was my heartdog the moment I saw him. I tried to get both Sharon and Dave to let me have both of them, but no go.
So JJ goes to a show home. Now he wants to live with me and Dave. How can he get back to us?
Well he hung onto one testicle with all his might! Of course his owner did not want a show dog with only one testeicle descended, so she returned him to Sharon.
Close - but no cigar!
So JJ and his brother Louie are playing in Sharon's back yard and Louie broke his leg. Now you just know JJ had a hand in that!
Sharon asked me and Dave to look after JJ for a few weeks, since she had to keep Louie as quiet as possible, until she could find JJ a new home, or until Louie was past the worst and he could come home.
So now JJ is where he wants to be, but how to make sure it is permanent? Well he sees that all the dogs are closely bonded with me. They all love Dave, but no one is HIS dog.........}:-)
So he starts work on Dave. Now JJ had been with us for about 10 weeks and Dave keeps saying "THIS one loves ME"! At the same time he is saying "No, we cannot keep him"!
Finally I told Sharon I was buying him for Dave. Dave did not fight too hard!
JJ makes out that his is brain damaged, but only when it suits him!
JJ is the clown of the bunch, and a good fun guy.
